CAN Events Agency was co-founded by Chuma and Andrea Nwobosi, and operates in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We created our company to fulfill our passion for booking and marketing entertainment and sports events. The strength of the CAN Events Agency team stems from the combined expertise in both client service and industry experience.

Our first mission is to deliver premium entertainment and event services to improve the calibre and level of excitement at events. We believe that our first responsibility is to the event planners who use our services. CAN Events Agency has high service standards, professionalism, and attention to detail. Through our stress-free and straightforward booking process, event planners receive unforgettable entertainment and event services, contributing to the overall success of any function.

Our second mission is to inspire young athletes and coaches by developing basketball skills, building strong team principles, and establishing a solid foundation in the intricacies of basketball. We believe that sport is a microcosm of society that fosters confidence, self-esteem, teamwork, and other essential life skills. We aim to improve the sport experience of athletes and coaches by promoting positive and fun skill development.

Chuma Nwobosi, BPE

Chuma is a veteran basketball figure in Canadian basketball. Since graduating from the University of Alberta with a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education, Chuma has been coaching high-performance athletes in a variety of roles ranging from summer camps to national championship college programs. His stops include the University of Connecticut, Stanford University, the Golden State Warriors of the NBA, Grant MacEwan College, and the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology. In addition to his coaching roles, Chuma has trained future coaches through a course offered in the Grant MacEwan College Physical Education Degree Program and offers his time and knowledge to various coaching clinics. His accomplishments at the college level include 1 provincial bronze medal, 2 provincial silver medals, 4 provincial championships, 8 appearances at the Canadian Colleges Athletic Association (CCAA) national championships, 1 CCAA national bronze medal, 1 CCAA national silver medal, and 1 CCAA national championship.   He was also named the Alberta Colleges Athletic Association Men's Basketball Coach of The Year for the 2006/07 season.

Andrea Nwobosi, BMgt

Andrea has recently completed a seven-year career in post-secondary education. Transferring from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Arts and the Faculty of Education to the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology's School of Business, Andrea found her passion in the Marketing Program at NAIT. After receiving her Marketing Diploma with honours, Andrea completed the University of Lethbridge's Post-Diploma Bachelor of Management Degree with Distinction at the Edmonton campus in April 2008. Andrea has built upon her foundations in marketing and client service to solidify her role in the entertainment booking industry. In a little over a year, Andrea was both Sales & Marketing Manager and Sales & Events Manager for an entertainer/speaker in Edmonton. It was in these roles that she developed the skills to successfully meet the entertainment needs of meeting and event planners.
